#MWC15 Interview: Jolla and Sailfish OS brands, global expanding

[video] Mikko Pyykkö, Head of Sales at Jolla Oy

Sailfish OS brand is getting more important to Jolla than the company brand itself. But why has it been slow to enter new markets? Are there new partners joining the sails soon? Mikko shares some of the problems on the sails so far, but he talks strong about a brighter future: "We'll soon see Sailfish OS devices all around the world", "Sailfish is faster than Ubuntu"

March 4, 2015 at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, I had an interesting discussion on branding, global expanding and partnering up with others to make it possible. 11 min video interview with Mikko Pyykkö, Head of Sales at Jolla Oy, here you go. For our busy readers, the most interesting parts (in my opinion) starts from 6th minute:

    1. Thank you so much! I might be too "Finnished" to take any credits on me, good answers are the ones that matter the most, but it feels like great to read this, providing me some fuel for even more edits!

    1. In the interview above, Mikko shared that Jolla is a smaller company and they must carefully think about their investments. Unfortunately, 3G networks in America are currently not part of their plans.

However, he also shared that it's easier to spread WiFi-only devices around the world, and USA is on that list already. You can also give a vote for Jolla Tablet to arrive to Mexico here (TJC link, you need to register to vote). There were already 17 votes while writing this

    2. I feel fantastic, from a reasonable point of view first establish good bases in Asian and European countries, but without neglecting the market in America who still has great room for a new system thanks again
      regards.
